Welcome to East Run Valley
and to Farnsworth House Bed and Breakfast.
Located in a rural valley
named for the East Run branch of the Little Mahoning River.
Affectionately known as "The Valley" by all who live here. East Run
will remind you of an era when knocking on a neighbors door to borrow
a cup of sugar not only got you the needed ingredient for your recipe,
but also got you caught up on the recent news of the day. Farnsworth
House offers it's guests an opportunity to return to the nostalgic
days of gentle relaxation, wholesome fresh air, casual strolls down a
country lane.
Farnsworth House has a
warm rich history to offer all who enter the handsomely appointed
rooms. Named for and built by John A. Farnsworth, in the grand style
of a country manor house. Farnsworth was offered outside the
Farnsworth family for the first time to Jon Perry and William Woodcock
in 1994. Jon and Bill were frequent visitors to "The Valley" and
guests of the Farnsworth Family.
As a guest during any
season of the year, you will find pleasant ways of filling your day
with local attractions and activities. Our nearby Amish community is
warm and welcoming. The shops of Smicksburg PA. offer a more
traditional Amish experience, along with local artists, weavers,
and potters who have opened studios near by. We are also located
near the famous woodchuck Punxsutawney Phil and not far from the
sites of Indiana PA.
Bring your appetite to the
breakfast table! A large and hearty meal to start the day will await
you. When the gardens are in season we try to include as many fresh
"field to fork" ingredients as possible.
Call or write for room
availability.
